I think the following statement of Peter Drucker, the world-renowned management authority - taken from Monday Manna, 06/01/23 -, says it all:

• “The future requires decisions – NOW
• It requires risk – NOW.
• It requires action – now.
• It demands allocation of resources, and above all, of human resources – NOW.
• It requires work – NOW.”

We can take one of two extremes in looking to the future – do nothing and simply let the future “happen” to us, or become so obsessed with preparing for the weeks, months and years to come that we fail to appreciate the present.

• There is a third alternative, however:
  We can execute diligence and wisdom, acting as best as we can based on what we know and can anticipate, tempered by the recognition that even the most astute planning cannot fully account for unforeseen, unpredictable events in the business and economic environments.
